Good Sam, Good Samaritan, Banner Good Samaritan Hospital. It's had a few names over its 100 years of existence at 12th St. and McDowell Rd. in Phoenix.
Now, the hospital will officially be called Banner-University Medical Center Phoenix. The new name was created out of a merger between the University of Arizona Health Network and Banner Health. "This merger is revolutionizing academic medicine and will benefit the entire state of Arizona," said UA President Ann Weaver Hart.
Some of the other changes according to Banner and the University include changing the name of the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson to Banner-University Medical Center Tucson.
