YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. - A man is accused of shooting his father, killing him, at a campsite near Fossil Creek, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office officials said.
Francis Claude Klettke, 21, was arrested in California Saturday, accused of the brutal killing of Dale Klettke, 60, at a campsite off Fossil Creek Road, southeast of Camp Verde.
Detectives say nearby campers heard gunshots Wednesday night. By Thursday morning, they noticed the Jeep that was parked there was gone, and the tent had been taken down.
Witnesses saw something in a bush near the camp, and found it was a body wrapped in a tent.
YCSO detectives and a DPS unit identified the dead man by fingerprints. Bullet casings were also found at the scene.
Francis Claude Klettke was arrested in Union City, California and is awaiting extradition.
