Rattlesnake Fire in eastern Arizona 25 percent contained

The smoke is reaching Alpine, Arizona.

A wildfire burning in eastern Arizona has grown to 15,423 acres and is 25 percent contained as of Sunday afternoon.

The Rattlesnake Fire started April 11. It is 20 miles southwest of Alpine, and 43 miles southeast of Whiteriver.

Hot shots are burning areas around the fire in an effort to contain it. There are fire lines on the northern and eastern edges of the fire.

Smoke is reaching Alpine and Luna Lake, and may impact drivers on Highway 191.

In the video above, hot shots from Payson started a burn out to remove vegetation ahead of the fire.
