Lake Havasu City resident Ryan Eckhardt, 64, died at the scene, Mohave County officials said.

MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. — A man was killed after he crashed into a cow while riding his motorcycle last week near Kingman, Mohave County Sheriff's Office officials said.

Deputies with the sheriff's office got a call just after 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, about the crash, which happened around milepost 27 on Stockton Hill Road, north of Kingman. A witness told deputies that after they came upon the crash, they saw a cow getting up from off the ground and running away.

The motorcyclist, Lake Havasu City resident Ryan Eckhardt, 64, died at the scene, Mohave County officials said. An investigation revealed Eckhardt was thrown from the motorcycle after he struck the cow, officials said.

Officials said they found a helmet at the site but it did not seem to have been worn at the time of the collision.
