CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — A student at a high school in Casa Grande was arrested Monday after school officials found a gun on him, according to Casa Grande police.
The 14-year-old student, who will not be identified due to his age, was arrested around 9 a.m. at Vista Grande High School.
A letter to parents from the school said police were called as soon as it was reported to the administration that the student had a gun.
"Our school's security protocols were followed diligently, and the situation was handled swiftly and effectively by the law enforcement officers who responded," the letter said.
Police and school officials said no one was harmed at the school.
"There was no further incident involving the student or firearm," Casa Grande police said in a statement.
