2nd teen arrested in Pinal County assault

Sheriff Mark Lamb said an 18-year-old has recently been arrested in connection to an assault from last November.

PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. — Another suspect has been taken into custody in relation to an assault reported last November in Pinal County.

Sheriff Mark Lamb said Friday afternoon that 18-year-old Garrett Bagshaw of Mesa was recently arrested and booked into jail for his alleged involvement in an assault.

PCSO had arrested 20-year-old Jacob Pennington earlier this week for his alleged involvement in the assault that occurred in a desert area off of North Wagon Wheel Road and West Sun Dance Drive.

Pennington allegedly told deputies he is associated with the "Gilbert Goons," adding the group's name originated from a SnapChat group chat. It is not clear what Bagshaw's alleged role in the incident was.

Sheriff Lamb said the case remains under investigation.
