Suspect caught on camera breaking into, stealing from jewelry store in Arizona

The Lake View Jewelry Boutique near Hayden Road and Via de Ventura in Scottsdale was broken into on May 1. Here are the latest details.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A search is underway for a man who was caught on surveillance footage breaking into and stealing from a jewelry store, according to Scottsdale police

Police said the suspect broke into the Lake View Jewelry Boutique, which is located on Hayden Road, just north of Via de Ventura, at about 3 a.m. on May 1.

When officers got to the store, the suspect had left, and officers saw that they had broken in through the front door and stolen jewelry from at least one display case.

This was confirmed by surveillance footage from the boutique, which was shown to 12News. The footage shows the suspect looking into the store before smashing the glass on the front door and crawling inside.

The suspect was then seen taking multiple items from a case, but it was not clear what the items were.

Scottsdale police say they are still investigating this burglary. No information was given about the person police are looking for.

This is a developing story and more details will be added as they are made available.
