Bicyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run

The collision happened near the intersection of Happy Valley and El Mirage roads in the northwest Valley. Here are the latest details.

MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — A bicyclist is fighting for his life in a Valley hospital after being seriously hurt in a hit-and-run in the northwest Valley, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office

MCSO said deputies were called to the area near the intersection of Happy Valley and El Mirage Roads around 6:30 p.m. on Friday because a man was seen in the road by people passing by.  

That man was taken to the hospital and has life-threatening injuries. 

MCSO says the man was riding a bike when he was hit by a vehicle that drove away. 

Traffic detectives are at the scene of the crash investigating. 

The victim was not identified and MCSO did not release any details about the car they are looking for.
