PHOENIX — Arizona Gives Day is today, Tuesday, April 7, and this is a year like no other.

The need is greater, more of our families, our coworkers, our neighbors and our friends are impacted. We are all struggling in some way and experiencing new challenges together.

We know donating may be the farthest thing from possible right now but if you’re able, our community partners are committed to making every dollar count and can do more with just $1 than we could ever imagine – we can all help make a difference.

On behalf of our community, 12 News is giving Valley of the Sun United Way $12,000 to help support COVID-19 relief efforts here in Arizona through the United for the Valley COVID-19 Fund.

Valley of the Sun United Way is addressing the most critical needs like lapses in food, income, child care and more. And by working with their partner organizations that know and serve those most impacted by COVID-19, United Way will quickly allocate funds to address the emerging needs in real time.

The nonprofit community is more critical to a healthy Arizona than ever before. They are on the front lines providing training, support and resources to Valley residents across our state.

When we are inspired to give and can afford to, we make our state stronger and create a thriving community for everyone.
