Many kids pretend to play 'cops and robbers' with fake guns as kids. But how many kids get the chance to play a game with real officers?

An 11-year-old boy got an experience of a lifetime this week as he played an epic Nerf war between Sacramento County SWAT and Air Unit.

The boy, A.J., is losing his eyesight in about 6 weeks because of ongoing medical issues.

SWAT and the Air Unit decided to send him on a special mission. That mission? Find a helmet and rescue it.

We are happy to report it was mission accomplished. And A.J. has a unique memento to keep from his special mission.

After taking A.J. on a flight in a helicopter, the Air Unit looked at his bucket list and realized there was some items they could help him accomplish.

The Nerf guns and ammo was donated by different families who wanted A.J. to have this experience.
