PHOENIX — The Phoenix Zoo has made good on its friendly World Series wager with the Fort Worth Zoo.

The zoos had agreed that the home zoo of the losing team would name a resident rattlesnake after the winning team.

The Diamondbacks' loss to the Texas team meant the Phoenix Zoo was up to bat when it came to taking a swing at a Rangers-related name for its snake.

Making good on the promise, the zoo named one of its rattlesnakes Ranger in honor of the new World Series champions.

Ranger is a western diamondback rattlesnake.

The zoo shared the snake's name in a Facebook video on its page.

Congrats to the Texas Rangers and Fort Worth Zoo on the World Series win! It is now time for us to make good on our bet... so without further ado, meet Ranger, the Western diamondback. 😅 Thanks for the great run Arizona Diamondbacks, we can't wait to bring the chaos next year!
