PHOENIX — The Phoenix Zoo is now home to two new prehensile-tailed porcupines that are ready to meet zoo visitors!

Gigi and Olive came to the zoo as breeding recommendations for the Species Survival Plan. 4-year-old Gigi, a male, came from the Houston Zoo and his mate 6-year-old Olive's previous home was at the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden in South Carolina.

"Prehensile-tailed porcupines are arboreal animals," a statement from the zoo said. "They're excellent climbers and love to spend a majority of their time in the trees."

Stop by the Children's Trail to say hi to the new additions next time you are at the zoo!
