Here are the best routes to get to Country Thunder this weekend

The annual music festival attracts big crowds to Florence. Drivers should expect traffic delays on State Route 79 in both directions.

PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. — Road construction in Florence may force some Country Thunder attendees to take a detour this weekend in order to get to the music festival.

Due to construction at the SR-79 and SR-287 intersection in Florence, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office recommends drivers traveling from the west to take the following detours:

If coming from the Casa Grande area, motorists should turn south on Valley Farms Road from SR-287, then turn east onto Cactus Forest Road, and then turn north onto SR-79 and continue to Florence.

If coming from the Coolidge area, motorists should travel east on Cactus Forest Road from Valley Farms Road or Coolidge Avenue, then turn north onto SR-79 and continue to Florence.

PCSO said speeds will be reduced at the Cactus Forest and SR-79 intersection. Festival attendees can text "CT2024" to 65513 and they will receive emergency messages during Country Thunder. The festival is April 11-14.

The lineup for the 2024 festival can be found here.
