Celebrate 45 years of turning the fountain green in Fountain Hills

March 17

The fountain will begin turning green at noon and will be bathed in green light when the sun sets, according to the website.

You can also watch the show on livestream: https://www.experiencefountainhills.org/fountain

It all started in 1979 when, after a bet was made the year before, the world-famous fountain in Fountain Hills was dyed green and people water skied around the fountain – yes, you heard us right, they water skied! Now, 45 years later, the annual greening of the fountain will happen at noon on March 17.

The fountain in Fountain Hills is the world’s fourth tallest fountain and it takes 55 gallons of coloring to turn the fountain green!
