Kyra O’Connor is a digital journalist who joined 12News in 2023 after graduating from Elon University with a degree in journalism and business.
O’Connor served as the executive director of Elon University’s student-run news network for two years and served in many additional leadership roles throughout her time at Elon News Network. In North Carolina, O’Connor covered local politics, the housing crisis in Alamance County and wrote many features on local figures and businesses.
She has worked for local and national publications, including Ms. magazine and News21, a fellowship run by Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications. In her day-to-day in Phoenix, you can find O’Connor digging for local, interesting and unique stories to bring to the 12News audience.
