It's a big week, and narrowing it down to four top picks wasn't easy by any means.
I chose with my heart, not my head, so please forgive me if you disagree with my choices. I could have easily gone "Moon Knight" or another "Harley Quinn" book, or the really impressive looking "Jackpot," which I totally recommend because it looks sha-mazing!
Instead, I present you with my personal top four picks for the week. Enjoy!
Gwenpool #1
If you've been reading Marvel, you know their fascination with the Gwen Stacy character. First came Spider Gwen, the web-crawling Earth-65 version of Spider-Man. In the alternative earth, she is the one bitten by the radio-active spider, not Peter Parker.
Then came the Gwenpool character out of nowhere. Spawning as a spoof cover from the "Secret Wars" crossover, Marvel released a bunch of covers featuring Gwen Stacy as other Marvel heroes.
For the "Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars" title, they created a Gwen/Deadpool mash-up. What followed was one of the biggest comic book booms in recent history.
Now, the overnight internet sensation takes center stage in her own ongoing series. Gwen Poole (see what they did there?) used to be a comic book reader just like you until she woke up in a world where the characters she read about seemed to be real.
Could it be they really are real? Heck no, right? WRONG!
According to Gwen Poole, it must be though, so she takes a "no consequences" attitude to the Marvel Universe. Gwenpool now tries to be the least responsible and least "role-modelish" character to date. Enjoy.
Star Wars C-3PO Special #1
