SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The keeper of the net for the Arizona Coyotes not only plays like an all-star but also lives like an all-star.

Mike Smith and his wife Brigitte along with their four kids are headquartered in a 6,800-square-foot home in Scottsdale.

"It's a modern industrial-style home and we love the wood beams, stone fireplaces and just how open the home is," said the Coyotes goalie.

It's easy to spot their house, just look for the hockey gear scattered throughout.

"My kids are obsessed with hockey and baseball. So when dad gets home, hockey is the first thing they want to play," Smith said.

The large kitchen is the main gathering place in the home.

"It's where dad gets his morning coffee and where we gather to watch highlights on the TV," said Smith.

The kitchen overlooks the living room with a floor to ceiling stone fireplace.

"When you have four young kids, it's nice to be able to cook dinner in the kitchen and be able to keep a close eye on them while they are playing in the living room," Smith said.

The home features five bedrooms with two tucked away in the kids wing.

"Our daughter gets her own room and the three boys share a room. They are maniacs so it's nice to keep them all in one spot," said Smith.

On the other side of the house sits the master suite.

"I'd say this is where the magic happens, but we have four kids, so I'd say the magic already happened," Smith said.

The spacious bathroom features dual separate vanities, a large walk-in closet and the only bathtub in the house.

"This makes bath time very interesting," said Smith.

His wife, Brigitte, gets the inside shower, while the sweaty hockey player gets the outdoor shower.

"I get the dirtiest spot, I can't mess this up too much," he said.

Smith's work is done on the ice, but he still has an office.

"Not much actual work is done in here, but I have all my goalie masks on display along with a wall of Coyotes milestones. It's cool to show this off and I'm sure my kids will be asking a lot of questions one day," said Smith.

Brigitte has her own office on the other side of the house with her own shrine.

"My wife was a champion alpine skier and skied in two Olympics, so this wall features pictures of that. It's cool to also have an athlete as a wife and mother of my kids," Smith said.

Upstairs features another bedroom and a game room.

Outside is pure paradise.

"I love watching games out here and the kids love eating dinner out here. We have a swimming pool, a garden and a putting green," said Smith.

The Smith family home is a desert oasis.

"We love it, it felt like home immediately. We love living in Arizona and are grateful for the opportunity," said Smith.
