Woman dead, 2 others injured being pulled from house fire in Glendale

Two dogs were also killed in the fire.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Editor's note: The above video is from a Thursday evening newscast.

A woman was killed and two others were injured after a fire broke out at a home in Glendale late Thursday.

The Glendale Fire Department said Friday that crews responded to a fire near 67th and Maryland avenues around 9:30 p.m.

When crews arrived on scene, they found flames coming from the back of the house and pushing out the garage.

Crews forced their way in through the front door of the home and were met with smoke down to their shoulders and poor visibility.

They found a woman in her 60s and pulled her from the home. She was treated on scene before being taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Another person was rescued from the home and was treated on scene.

A third person was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.

Neither of those victims were taken to a local hospital.

Two dogs were also rescued from the home. One of those dogs required oxygen.

Two other dogs died in the fire.

It was not immediately known what started the fire.

There were working smoke detectors in the home at the time of the fire.

The investigation is ongoing.

This is a developing story, we will update with new information as it becomes available.
