PHOENIX — Fire crews responded to a report of explosions coming from a pool pump room at an apartment complex near Third Avenue and Indian School Road Monday night.

The first firefighters to arrive said they heard popping sounds coming from the pool room. They also found a gas line leading to the room.

Utility companies secured the gas and power to the pool room, and the popping stops. Firefighters said there were no chemicals or fire involved.

Residents in apartments near the pool room were asked to evacuate as firefighters assessed the situation, but the residents were soon able to return.
