Mill Fire burns 162 acres Monday near Crown King, zero percent contained

There is no immediate threat to structures, wildfire officials say.

PHOENIX — A Type-3 Incident Management Team will take over the Mill Fire Tuesday morning, when air attack will also resume, after the fire burned 162 acres and is zero percent contained as of Monday night, US Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management says.

Numerous firefighter crews were flown in by helicopter to work on a wildfire that near Crown King, Ariz. Monday.

No structures are immediately threatened but gusty winds and thick vegetation are causes for concern, said a spokesperson with the BLM.

The fire, which officials have named the Mill Fire, is burning in a remote area southwest of Crown King. See map below.

The cause of the wildfire is currently under investigation.
