Speeding up the winds

The beginning of May will be a breezy one.

PHOENIX — Winds will be picking up speed out of the west and southwest on Wednesday and Thursday across Arizona. The Valley can expect wind gusts in the 20s while gusts could get up to 40 mph in the mountain regions.

Temperatures will turn down a notch or two as these winds whiz through the state.

Temps will go back to a warming trend again through Saturday before another wind-maker shows up Sunday and dials down temperatures slightly again.

Sunshine will prevail for at least the next week. The only exception is the mountains may get a slight shot at a shower going into Monday.
