Phoenix PD under fire for unlawful body cavity search
A Valley woman, Erika Reynolds, was stopped by Phoenix PD the day after Christmas after police say she bought drugs from a known dealer. A notice of claim from Reynolds and her attorney states a female officer sexually assaulted her by using a gloved hand to search Reynolds' genitals and caused her to bleed. Medical records concluded Reynolds was sexually assaulted. The notice of claim states she is planning to sue Phoenix PD for more than $12 million.
