Thank you for visiting for the weekend traffic report. Here’s what you need to know for this weekend, February 2-5, 2018. Commuters will deal with a couple freeway closures and restrictions this weekend.

The Loop 202 westbound (Red Mountain Freeway) ramp to Loop 101 northbound (Pima Freeway) in the East Valley is closed Friday from 9 p.m. to Saturday 5 a.m. for freeway lighting maintenance. Drivers should consider exiting Loop 202 westbound to northbound Alma School Road and then using westbound McKellips Road to access northbound Loop 101

Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) is briefly closed overnight between Van Buren Street and Priest Drive on Sunday from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead utility line installation. Loop 202 will be closed intermittently for up to 15 minutes each time. The Loop 202 eastbound on-ramp at Van Buren Street and westbound on-ramp at Priest Drive will be closed when freeway traffic is temporarily stopped. Please be patient and prepare to slow down or stopped traffic

The Loop 202 westbound (Santan Freeway) is narrowed to one lane overnight between Power and Higley roads from Saturday 10 p.m. till Sunday 3 a.m. for the guardrail installation project. Please allow extra travel time and use caution when approaching and traveling through the work zone.

Loop 101 Southbound is narrowed to two lanes between Thunderbird Road and Grand Avenue (US 60) in Peoria from Friday 10 p.m. until Saturday 10 a.m. for barrier wall repairs. Loop 101 northbound HOV lane is also closed in the same area. Please use caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through the work zone.

A reminder that 59th Avenue and Southern Avenue are closed now until March of this year. This closure takes place due to the South Mountain Freeway Construction. Some alternate roads to consider are Broadway or Baseline between 51st and 67th Avenues

Thank you for visiting! Have a fun and safe weekend.
