PHOENIX - The Phoenix police and fire departments said a firefighter has been arrested in relation to a recent spate burglaries at Phoenix fire stations over the past couple of months.

In two cases, the firefighter is accused of setting dumpster fires to pull the crew away from the station.

Police said he was caught in the act during one of the thefts.

Police have identified the firefighter as 36-year-old Ryan Donahue, who was employed with the Phoenix Fire Department.

He was booked into 4th Avenue Jail on eight counts of theft, two counts of arson, one count of burglary and one count of criminal damage after he was taken into custody Friday morning.

Donahue is scheduled to appear in court at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10.
