Another record has been set for heat in Phoenix

For the second day in a row a daily heat record has been set in the Valley, but that's not the only one.

PHOENIX — For the second day in a row, a new daily heat record has been set. At 116 degrees, Phoenix has surpassed the previous record of 115 degrees set in 1996. 

Daily heat is not the only record of the day. July 2020 has been the hottest month ever in Phoenix averaging 99 degrees. 

The average factors in daily highs and lows according to 12 News Meteorologist, Lindsay Riley.
