PHOENIX — Thank you for visiting 12news.com for the weekend traffic report. According to ADOT, here’s what you need to know for Friday, Oct. 4 through Monday, Oct. 7. Commuters will deal with a couple freeway closures and some restrictions this weekend.

Let’s start off in west Phoenix. The I-10 eastbound is closed between 67th and 43rd avenues for paving as part of Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway construction on Friday from 9 p.m. until Monday 4 a.m. I-10 eastbound on-ramps are closed at 91st, 83rd, 79th and 75th avenues. I-10 eastbound drivers should consider exiting the freeway ahead of the closure and using detour routes, including McDowell Road or Van Buren Street.

Next, Grand Avenue (US 60) is closed in both directions between Dysart Road and Loop 303 in the northwest Valley for pavement sealing work, Saturday from 11:30 p.m. to Sunday at 4 p.m. R.H. Johnson Blvd, Reems Road and Dysart Road will be restricted but open for cross traffic at Grand Avenue. Bell Road bridge also will be open at Grand Avenue (with ramp closures). Detour routes include Loop 303, Bell Road, Greenway Road and El Mirage Road.

Now to some restrictions. The I-10 westbound is narrowed to two lanes between the I-17 "Stack" interchange and 43rd Avenue for paving as part of the freeway widening project, Saturday 8 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. The I-17 northbound ramp to I-10 westbound is narrowed to one lane. I-10 westbound on-ramp at 27th Avenue is closed. Alternate routes include Loop 101 westbound and southbound in West Valley.

Then, I-17 northbound is narrowed to one lane overnight near Happy Valley Road for the interchange reconstruction project, Sunday and Monday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely in work zones. Alternate routes include northbound 19th Avenue to westbound Jomax Road to travel beyond restriction.

Another restriction is on the Loop 303, it is closed intermittently in both directions near Lake Pleasant Parkway for APS utility line work from Saturday 9.m. until Sunday at 9 a.m. Loop 303 closed is up to 15 minutes each time. Loop 303 eastbound on-ramp and westbound off-ramp at Lake Pleasant Parkway also closed as needed. Drivers should allow extra travel time or consider using Happy Valley Parkway or State Route 74.

Finally, the Loop 101 northbound is narrowed to two lanes overnight between Chandler Blvd and Ray Road for the widening project on Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and then Sunday 9 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m. Please use caution in work zones.
