Thank you for visiting 12news.com for the weekend traffic report. According to ADOT here’s what you need to know for March 1- 4, 2019. Commuters will deal with a closure in the North Valley this weekend, a few overnight restrictions and some delays due to the Renaissance Festival.

Let’s start in the North Valley. The Loop 101 EB is closed between 7th St. and Cave Creek Rd. in north Phoenix for placement of temporary barrier and lane-stripe adjustments as part of a freeway widening project from Friday at 10 pm to Monday 5 am. EB Loop 101 on-ramps at 19th and 7th avenues are also closed. Both I-17 ramps to EB Loop 101 will remain open, but drivers should expect heavy traffic and avoid the area if possible. To limit delays, consider using detour routes, including eastbound Union Hills Dr. or Deer Valley Rd. EB Loop 101 drivers exiting at 7th St. should expect heavy delays. EB freeway traffic will detour along Beardsley frontage road before returning to Loop 101 at Cave Creek Rd.

Now to the west side of town. The right two lanes on I-10 WB are closed between 51st and 55th Avenues for work on the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange on Saturday from 5 am to 6 pm. The I-10 WB on-ramp at 43rd Ave. is also closed. NOTE: The I-10 EB is narrowed to one lane overnight near 59th Ave. from 10 pm to 4 am Sunday through Thursday nights (March 3-7) for bridge work. Please allow for extra travel time.

The I-10 EB is narrowed to three lanes between Litchfield Rd. and Avondale Boulevard in the West Valley for work zone set up as part of new Fairway Dr. interchange project from Friday 10 pm to Saturday 8 am. Please use caution in the work zone.

Another restriction in the West Valley is on the I-10 WB, it’s narrowed to three lanes between 99th Ave. and Dysart Rd. in the West Valley for work zone set up as part of a new interchange project from Saturday 9 pm to Sunday 8 am.

Finally, the Loop 202 NB off-ramp and SB on-ramp at Broadway Rd. in east Mesa are closed for pavement repairs, Friday 9 pm to Saturday 11 pmUS 60 EB ramp to Loop 202 NB is narrowed to one lane. Please use alternate routes, including the Loop 202 ramps at University Dr.

If you are heading out to the Renaissance Festival this weekend, expect heavier traffic at times in the Apache Junction and Gold Canyon areas US 60 (Superstition Freeway). Please allow extra travel time and be prepared for slow traffic. Use caution, especially near festival parking lot access points. The festival is taking place weekends now through March 31.
