Weekend traffic outlook for Aug. 7 - 10

There are a few detours and closures on Valley roads this weekend. Vanessa Ramirez has the details.

PHOENIX — Here’s a breakdown of the closures and restrictions you can expect to see around the Valley this weekend.

East Valley

  • Loop 101 northbound is closed between Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) and Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) for pavement improvements from Friday 9 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m. Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) ramps to Loop 101 northbound are closed along with the US 60 ramps to Loop 101 northbound. Loop 101 northbound ramps to Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) are also closed. US 60 westbound on-ramp at Alma School Road is closed too. Loop 101 northbound traffic can detour along northbound Price frontage road. Alternate routes include northbound Dobson Road or McClintock Drive.

North Valley

  • All I-17 on- and off-ramps at Happy Valley Road are closed for removal of roundabouts and installation of temporary traffic signals from Friday 9 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m. Happy Valley Road is also closed in both directions at I-17. Consider alternate routes including using the I-17 interchanges at Pinnacle Peak or Jomax roads.

Northeast Valley

  • Loop 101 eastbound is closed between Cave Creek Road and Tatum Boulevard for pavement improvements from Friday 10 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m. State Route 51 northbound ramp to Loop 101 eastbound is also closed and Cave Creek Road closed in both directions at Loop 101. Loop 101 eastbound on-ramp at 7th Street is closed as well. Please consider exiting ahead of the closure and using alternate routes including eastbound Union Hills Drive to northbound Tatum Boulevard.

Southeast Valley

  • State Route 347 closed between Maricopa Road and I-10 for pavement work on Saturday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. I-10 eastbound on-ramp at SR 347/Queek Creek Road are closed. I-10 off-ramps at SR 347 are limited to eastbound turns to Queen Creek Road. Drivers should plan on using alternate routes including Wild Horse Pass Boulevard and Maricopa Road or the I-10 interchange at Riggs Road.
