Toddler hospitalized after Phoenix car crash

PHOENIX — A toddler was rushed to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash happened Thursday in Phoenix.

The collision happened at Northern and 27th avenues around 12:21 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they treated a 1-year-old boy with serious injuries and transported him to the hospital.

The toddler was not in a car seat or wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened, according to a preliminary report from the Phoenix Police Department.

No one else was injured in the crash.

Police say the intersection will be closed for several hours while they investigate how the collision happened.
