PHOENIX — Memorial Day traffic caused long backups on southbound Interstate 17 between Flagstaff and the Valley on Monday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Just before 3 p.m., traffic was backed up for about eight miles between Kachina Village and Munds Park.
Traffic was also backed up around five miles on southbound State Road 87 north of Shea Boulevard.
ADOT said those jams have since cleared.
