Avondale Fire & Medical said that multiple children were taken to the hospital in serious condition and one of them died.

AVONDALE, Ariz. — A 10-year-old boy has died following a two-vehicle crash in Avondale, officials said. Three other children are in critical condition.

Avondale Fire & Medical crews responded to the site of the crash near 107th Avenue and Roosevelt Parkway Wednesday morning.

According to early reports, four children were taken to the hospital with serious injuries and one of them died. One adult man and one adult woman were also taken to the hospital.

The three surviving children include a 9-year-old boy, a 5-year-old girl, and a 1-year-old boy. The medical conditions of the three children have not changed since Wednesday, police said.

Medical officials say that the man was "transported as an immediate," while the woman was taken to the hospital in fair condition.

At this time, the cause of the crash is unknown and impairment is not believed to be a factor.
