13-year-old bicyclist critically injured after being hit by car in Anthem

PHOENIX — A teenage boy was rushed to the hospital in critical condition Tuesday after he was hit by a car in Anthem.

The crash happened near Anthem Way and Daisy Mountain Drive around 1:45 p.m. when the car collided into the teen while he was riding his bike for unknown reasons.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says the teen has life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are asking drivers to stay away from the area while they investigate how the crash happened.
