For Prescott photographer Chad Castigliano, it was just a way to help his wife raise money for the Yavapai branch of Books to the Rescue, which was brought to Prescott by his wife, Jasmine. It was a simple, but bold idea. A boudoir shoot with an unconventional model -- firefighter Tim Wilson. The shoot went off without a hitch, but the ensuing viral frenzy was something none of them had expected.

After Chad posted the pictures to social media, the traffic to his photography Facebook page was so heavy, Facebook shut it down not once, but twice. And thus, the Whimsical Woodsman page was started. According to Chad, the last he looked, the page had over 250,000 shares. The pictures from the Whimsical Woodsman photo shoot were made into calendars available for sale. A third of the proceeds from the sales will go to help fund the Yavapai County branch of Books to the Rescue.

Books to the Rescue is a non-profit that provides "comfort bags" to first responders, to help children who have been through traumatic events. The idea is to help distance children from the traumatic event, while helping them feel comfortable and relax.

The Woodsman has received international fame, Chad said they are "huge in Europe." An unexpected response came in the form of personal messages to the Woodsman, many from teenagers expressing gratitude, and saying the Woodsman has inspired them to feel more comfortable in their own skin and bodies.
