Arians reportedly was mulling over the CBS offer and another that would keep him in the studio.

When Bruce Arians retired as coach of the Arizona Cardinals, he said there was a chance he would join the media side of the NFL. He has officially done so.

After mulling over a pair of TV offers, CBS officially announced Arians’ addition to the network. As of last week, this was expected for Arians. He will join Greg Gumbel and Trent Green in the TV booth to form a three-man TV team. Jamie Erdahl is also part of the crew, working as a reporter.

Arians reportedly was mulling over the CBS offer and another that would keep him in the studio.

As a booth analyst, he will have the opportunity to still meet with players and coaches in pre-production meetings weekly, keeping him close to the game.

“I always hoped that broadcasting would be an option after I retired from coaching as a way to stay involved with this great game,” said Arians in the network’s press release. “I am thrilled to have that opportunity with such a class organization as CBS Sports. As I begin my new career in the broadcast booth, I am excited to join Greg, Trent and Jamie and look forward to learning from them, as well as sharing my passion and knowledge for the game with the fans.”
