Cardinals TE Jermaine Gresham has a history of helping others

Apparently, there are many more such stories of Jermaine Gresham doing great things to help others and doing them without any sort of fanfare.

Arizona Cardinals tight end Jermaine Gresham made national news with a kind act at an airport, when he helped an Arizona State grad pay for unexpected luggage fees so she could fly home. Several teammates noted that was nothing out of the ordinary for the veteran.

Apparently, there are many more such stories of Gresham doing great things to help others and doing them without any sort of fanfare.

The Cardinals’ Twitter account retweeted several such examples of those who shared the experiences.

This occurred in Tempe at a supermarket.

He apparently randomly pays for nail jobs, too.

When he played for the Cincinnati Bengals, he also helped people, giving aid to some homeless people.

He also rewarded someone who stepped up and helped him out.

Gresham doesn’t use social media and, according to Kyle Odegard for the official team site, he was not terribly comfortable talking about the event at the airport. He downplayed what he did and was noticeably relieved when reporters changed the subject to something else.

How much respect does Gresham get for how he is off the field? Teammate D.J. Humphries thinks he should be the Walter Payton Man of the Year, the highest honor a player can receive off the field.
