GLENDALE, Ariz. - In one of the dullest games the NFL has had to offer this season, the Arizona Cardinals fell to the visiting Detroit Lions at home Sunday 17-3.

The Cardinals (3-10) came off a strong 20-17 win in Green Bay last week but brought no momentum with them.

The defense wasn’t the problem for Arizona as they only allowed just ten offensive points from Detroit (5-8), but the Cardinals offense was non-existent for most of the contest. The Cards were able to move the ball into the red zone early in the fourth quarter but had to settle for a field goal.

The first Lions touchdown of the game came on a 67-yard interception return by cornerback Darius Slay in the third quarter.

With four minutes left in the game, Detroit scored again on a short run by Zach Zenner.

It’s the first time the Lions have beaten the Arizona Cardinals in Arizona, the Lions were previously 0-5. Detroit did beat the Cardinals in Arizona in 1993 when they were the Phoenix Cardinals.

David Johnson had 49 yards rushing on 15 carries. Josh Rosen threw for 228 yards.

Cardinals receiver Trent Sherfield finished with 77 yards receiving and Larry Fitzgerald had 55 yards.

The Cardinals head to Atlanta next week to take on a struggling Falcons team.
