PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks are opening the 2018 season Thursday in a game at Chase Field versus the Colorado Rockies.
The D-backs won the Wild Card series last season, to fall to the Dodgers in the NL Divisional Series. The team ended 93-69 in 2017, a reverse of the 2016 season's record, 69-93.
The D-backs are introducing several new food options and a bullpen cart to bring relief pitchers to the mound.
This year is the franchise's 20th anniversary. The first Opening Day was March 31, 1998.
Patrick Corbin is starting for Opening Day 2018. David Peralta is leading off, followed by A.J. Pollock, Paul Goldschmidt, Jake Lamb, Ketel Marte, Alex Avila, Nick Ahmed, and Jarrod Dyson.
