The Arizona Hotshots are one of the eight teams that make up the Alliance of American Football which officially kicks off in February 2019.

The team will play in the league's western division along with the Salt Lake Stallions, San Antonio Commanders and San Diego Fleet.

"The Arizona Hotshots pay tribute to the elite, highly-trained teams of firefighters organized by the United States Forest Service and other federal, state and county agencies that bravely battle the most serious wildland fires around the country," a release read announcing the team.

The Arizona Hotshots will play their games at Sun Devil Stadium and has a roster full of familiar Arizona State University names including Will Sutton, DJ Calhoun, Carl Bradford, Demario Richard and Mike Bercovici. The team will be coached by Rick Neuheisel.

"The Hotshots will have a profound appreciation for fearlessness, skill and honor and will selflessly play together as a team each week," a release said.

The Hotshots colors will be forest green, orange and golden yellow, inspired by the uniforms by actual hotshot crews, while the logo is made up of crossed axes.

"The crossed axes are depicted as “pulaskis,” a cutting and digging tool used by these heroic men and women," the release said.

The Alliance will have a 10-week regular season schedule starting on February 9, 2019 on CBS Sports. Two playoff rounds will follow the regular season with a championship game schedule for the weekend of April 26-28, 2019.
