Could the Valley host another Final Four? NCAA reps scouting Phoenix area

The 2017 Final Four basketball games were played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. It was the first Final Four held in Arizona.

Just a year after the Valley hosted its first men's Final Four, the NCAA is back to scout the area again.

According to a release, NCAA representatives will visit Phoenix to determine whether to award the city another Final Four.The reps will tour hotels and event sites around downtown Phoenix.

The 2017 Final Four basketball games were played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. It was the first Final Four held in Arizona.

Other events were held in downtown Phoenix including the Final Four Fan Fest at the Phoenix Convention Center and the March Madness Music Festival at Margaret T. Hance Park featuring the likes of Keith Urban and Aerosmith.

According to a release, citing a study conducted by Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business, the 2017 Final Four had a statewide economic impact of over $320 million.

Phoenix will bid on the 2024-2026 Final Fours. A decision will be made in July, a release said.
