TEMPE, Ariz. - Saturday's game against USC is a homecoming for ASU's Demario Richard.

The running back is from Palmdale, California, and is excited for the trip back to his home state.

"Just happy to be back home. It's a business trip but it's exciting to see my family," said Richard. "A lot of my family and friends there from high school, a lot of my family members I don't get to see like that so I'm happy."

Richard and the Sun Devils know they can't take the Trojans lightly.

USC is 1-3 on the young season, but have played a tough schedule with losses to Utah, Alabama and Stanford.

"It's USC, they come to play every week," said Richard.

The Sun Devils have been impressive to start 2016, and have displayed an ability to overcome adversity and late deficits.

They'll have a shot to improve to 2-0 in Pac-12 play Saturday night in California.

"We're just ready to play," said Richard.
