MESA, Ariz. - The nonprofit Feed My Starving Children has hit its 2-billionth packed meal.
FMSC confirms that this number is an accumulation since 2015 of packed meals, which will be sent to malnourished kids in 70 countries throughout the world.
About 73 million meals have been packed in Mesa with nearly 300,000 volunteers, according to FMSC.
“This 2-billionth meal represents more than just a milestone. It is a symbol of hope that, together, we can eradicate world hunger,” said Mark Crea in a release, FMSC Executive Director and CEO. “We are renewing our pledge that we will not stop until we have fed all of God's starving children."
The City of Mesa is home base to one of Feed My Starving Children sites. Other sites are located in Minnesota and Illinois.
