'This is sickening': Sen. Flake blasts Trump's son for 'making light' of Kavanaugh accuser

"No one should make light of this situation," Flake tweeted.

Sen. Jeff Flake called a four-day old Instagram post by Donald Trump Jr. "sickening" in a tweet Wednesday.

The photo posted by Trump Jr. appears to be written by an elementary school-age child in crayon, "Hi Cindy will you be my girlfriend Love Bret" it reads with checkboxes for "yes" and "no."

Above the photo, the caption reads "Judge Kavanaughs [sic] sexual assault letter found by Dems..."

Trump Jr. posted the letter saying, "I believe this is a copy for full transparency" accompanied by a few crying laughing emojis.

U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has been accused of sexual assault by a woman named Christine Blasey Ford. The accusations date back to when the two were high school students. She made the accusations in a confidential letter before going public with the accusations in a story published by the Washington Post.

Flake, who said he would not feel comfortable voting "yes" for Kavanaugh without first hearing more from Ford, said Trump Jr.'s post "is sickening."

"No one should make light of this situation," Flake said.

Flake tweeted Tuesday saying he asked the committee to delay the Kavanaugh vote, which they did until Monday.

"I now implore Dr. Ford to accept the invitation for Monday, in a public or private setting," Flake said. "The committee should hear her voice."
