One of the survivors of the Parkland shooting massacre who has become a young leader in the gun control movement is asking for an answer from Arizona's senior senator.

"Why do you take so much money from the NRA?" David Hogg tweeted at McCain.

Hoggs question was in response to McCain tweeting about an oped piece he wrote with Arizona State University Michael Crow. The piece was unrelated to guns.

But Hogg took the opportunity to call out McCain anyway for taking the most money from the National Rifle Association of any member of Congress in their career.

According to data collected by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, McCain tops the list of Congress members who have received financial support from the organization.

McCain has received about $7.7 million over the span of his political career, according to the Center's data.

The senator has yet to respond to Hogg's question.
