Woman arrested for DUI after hitting, killing pedestrian in Scottsdale

Police say the 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stayed at the scene.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Editor's note: The above video is about deadly pedestrian crashes. 

Police arrested the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian with her vehicle Thursday morning around 6 a.m. in Scottsdale. 

The man killed was identified as 48-year-old Jason Barnhart. 

Scottsdale PD says officers arrested the driver, 47-year-old Amy Durgan, after it was determined she was impaired by alcohol. Durgan stayed on the scene after the crash.

Durgan was arrested for DUI.

The investigation is on-going, police said. No further details have been released.
