Residents safe after apartment fire in Phoenix

Firefighters said multiple people self-evacuated from an apartment complex near 32nd Street and Bell Road.

PHOENIX — The residents got themselves out safely when a fire broke out an apartment complex in Phoenix Tuesday evening, firefighters said. 

Phoenix, Glendale and Scottsdale fire departments responded to the scene near 32nd Street and Bell Road and gained control over the fire. 

Crews made sure nobody else was in the apartment. 

Everyone was evaluated for light smoke inhalation, but nobody had to go to the hospital.
