UPDATE: Police ID man killed after crash involving school bus in Apache Junction

According to Superstition fire, no children from the Apache Junction Unified School District bus were injured.

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. - Friday afternoon, police released the name of the motorcyclist killed in the colliusion with the bus. Clinton Pennington, 36, died as a result of his injuries.

Police also said there were 10 children on the bus at the time of the accident, but none were injured.

A man in his 30s is dead after a crash involving a school bus in Apache Junction Friday morning, authorities said.

According to Superstition fire, no children from the Apache Junction Unified School District bus were injured.

Officials from the Apache Junction Police Department said a motorcyclist collided with the bus and he died after he went under the vehicle. The male rider has not been identified as the crash is still under investigation.

Phelps is closed from Apache Trail to 5th Ave for the investigation.

The Apache Junction Unified School District released the following statement about the incident:

"Dear Parents and Guardians, We have some important information to share with you.

There was an accident involving a vehicle and an AJUSD school bus this morning in the 380 block of Phelps Drive in Apache Junction. The students on the bus were evaluated at the scene by the Superstition Fire and Medical District. None of the students needed treatment at that time and were released to go to school. Counselors are available to students and staff and we encourage your student to talk to a counselor to help them during this difficult time. No further information can be released at this time pending the investigation. "
