If you have spent any extended amount of time in the Phoenix area, chances are you’ve seen someone wearing a State Forty Eight t-shirt.

Their iconic Arizona state logo is prominent around the Valley. From collaborations with Arizona sports teams to partnerships with local organizations, their designs are popular across the state.

To learn more about how this clothing brand began, I had the chance to sit down with State Forty Eight co-founder Mike Spangenberg.

During our chat on The Disabled List podcast, Spangenberg gave us some insight into how his time growing up in the Valley, his love for Arizona sports and how a $500 investment turned into one of the Grand Canyon state’s most popular brands.
