PHOENIX - It's another hot day in Phoenix, and we're forecast to hit 116 degrees. We're already at 114 degrees, setting a new record for June 4 in Phoenix, surpassing 1990's mark of 113.
Additionally, we are under a Ozone High Pollution Advisory from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.
It's a good day to stay inside if possible, but if you're not able to, there are some precautions you should take before heading off in the car.
Also, remember that the heat isn't just a nuisance -- it can be dangerous for many people, especially older folks. If you come across someone who's suffering a heat-related emergency, it's important to know how to help.
If someone has heat exhaustion, put them in a cool area, remove clothing and apply wet cloths.
If they have heat stroke, call 911 immediately and help them get into a cold-water bath if possible.
Phoenix is no stranger to the heat, but this is the first big stretch of very hot weather in 2016, so keep an eye out for those in trouble.
