A suspect was shot and killed by U.S. Marshals in the Salt River Indian Community Tuesday morning.
A task force received information of a violent wanted fugitive, authorities said. The fugitive was located in Mesa and he attempted to flee onto the reservation, according to the U.S. Marshals.
During the course of the arrest, the suspect was shot and killed by members of the task force, officials said.
No officers were injured during the incident.
The name of the suspect has not yet been released.
The investigation continues.
