BUCKEYE, Ariz. - Buckeye fire crews battled a semi truck fire at the westbound Interstate 10 Miller Road off-ramp Thursday.

According to a fire spokesperson, the tanker is filled with 7,300 gallons of diesel fuel.

There were no injuries to the driver of any of the firefighters.

The driver of the truck reported his brakes were "burning up" just before the fire started.

Firefighters said the fire appeared to have started in the tractor portion of the semi truck, and all of the rear tires were on fire when the first unit arrived.

The fire from the tires damaged the trailer and tractor. Crews said the diesel fuel needed to be removed from the tanks to another semi truck, which will cause the Miller Road exit to be closed for a while.

There is no danger to the public as the fuel is transferred.
